Aalto Scientific selects Eatonton for new manufacturing plant and warehouse

breaking the groundATLANTA, April 24, 2014 —The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Aalto Scientific Ltd. announced this morning that Aalto Scientific will create 80 jobs and invest $9 million into a new manufacturing facility in Eatonton, GA. “Aalto Scientific’s new manufacturing facility underscores the strength of Georgia’s health and life sciences sector,” said Commissioner Chris Carr, Georgia Department of Economic Development. “Georgia’s cold chain storage and logistics infrastructure is calling the attention of innovative companies such as Aalto Scientific and there is no question that this company will find a qualified workforce and eager community in Putnam County.”

Steve MauroThe planned construction will be the first project to locate to Rock Eagle Technology Park, a 150‐acre development park located at 1100 Madison Road. Aalto Scientific will construct a 76,000-square‐foot production and warehouse facility, as well as a 15,000‐square‐foot manufacturing facility to house their subsidiary, AUDIT® MicroControls, Inc.  Steve Mauro, Owner of Aalto Scientific said, “We are moving our corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility to Georgia in order to grow our business.”

Aalto Scientific joins more than 400 life science companies that are already operating in Georgia. Jennifer Nelson, GDEcD Director of EIRR (Existing Industry and Regional Recruitment) and Carol Henderson, GDEcD Director of Health Sciences, Technology, Corporate Solutions, New Media, R&D and IT, worked with the Putnam Development Authority to assist the company in locating to Eatonton. “We are very excited that Aalto Scientific has chosen Eatonton‐Putnam County as the location to build their new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility, “ said Bill Sharp, Chairman of the Putnam Development Authority. “We hope Aalto Scientific is just the first of many companies to locate in the Rock Eagle Technology Park.”
