On April 12, James Pressley and J. McCathern held an open house and ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the opening of JMA Office Solutions in the Lake Oconee Area. The Putnam and Greene County chambers of commerce were in attendance to facilitate the ribbon cutting ceremony and congratulate Pressley and McCathern on their success. The JMA team even had a live band, Pulling Strings, to add to the festivities. Pressley and his family welcomed over 80 guests to the event and were overjoyed with the amount of support from friends, family and the community.
“We would like to thank everyone who came out to our grand opening,” he said. “We had people from Baton Rogue, La.; Athens, Ala.; Cobb County, Ga. and Dothan, Ala. We love being here because everyone wants to come to the Lake.”
JMA is a combination of Jack McCathern and Associates, which was started in the early 80s in Columbia, S.C. and The McGregor Company, which was started in 1886 in Athens, Ga.
JMA Office Solutions began in reality almost 20 years ago when J. McCathern and James Pressley met and began working together selling stadium seating at the University of South Carolina, Clemson, Coastal Carolina and many other venues in the Palmetto State.
In February of last year, JMA had a unique opportunity to step into the office furniture business. Pressley has been involved in that for most of his career in the educational market. In January of this year, Pressley found a space at Lake Oconee he could not turn down thru the help of Vinece Pastor at Jo Jones Realty. JMA Office Solutions believes strongly in the future of the lake country, Greene and Putnam counties, and is proud to be a part of the community.
