With mobile devices, potential customers are just an arm’s reach away. These small devices pack a more powerful marketing punch than any channel available today.
Heading into 2019, you should be aware of important trends emerging that will help you stay ahead of your competitors. Unsurprisingly, it’s all about technology, and it might be a better fit for your small business than you realize. First and foremost, pay attention to mobile devices and the ever-evolving consumer convenience they allow for. Mobile devices are an ever-present fixture, always just an arm’s reach away from your potential customers and pack a more powerful marketing punch than any channel available today.
A go-to for both personal and business use, mobile devices are even more important than ever as email and telemarketing continue to decrease in effectiveness, according to Joey Penick, vice president of marketing for CenturyLink’s government, education, medium and small business unit. He recommends small business owners leverage “integrated social media campaigns, push notifications via text, and hyperlocal advertising” to maximize your small business’ mobile presence.
Additionally, small business owners should consider investing in mobile-first design in 2019, according to Ivana Taylor of DIY Marketers. Smartphones have become virtual extensions of consumers using them for “directions, finding places to eat, and even places to make purchases,” Taylor said. “If you’ve run into a website that is slow or clunky and not easy to navigate, and you clicked away and moved on–that’s what your customers are doing with your business as well.”
